Vehicle Details

This 1953 Mercury Monterey is in very original condition and has been in storage for over 20 years, but it does run well and can be driven.  The engine runs fine, the transmission shifts smoothly, and the steering, suspension and brakes work fine.  We recommend having a mechanic check all older vehicles before driving them regularly or at highway speeds if they have been in storage.

The interior is in nice original condition and has obviously been cared for.  The seats and headliner are original and are in nice shape for the age.  The body, paint, and exterior trim are all in nice condition.  The car has had some minor paint work  done on the bottoms of the rear fenders (behind the tires).  This appears to have been done years ago.  The overall appearance is very nice and you can tell that the vehicle has been well cared for.  Overall, this is a very original 1953 Mercury that has been carefully stored and would be very easy to make into a daily driver or enjoyably restore.

TERMS OF SALE

 

  • Vehicle is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS.  There is no warranty expressed or implied. 
  • This vehicle will need to be picked up, at buyers expense, at our location 730 Burlington Avenue, Logansport IN 46947, during regular business hours (9-5 M-F, 10-2 Sat., closed Sunday).
  • BUYER Agrees to pay $250 Deposit upon purchase via PayPal. Deposit is non-refundable in the event of non-payment of vehicle.  The remaining balance is due within 7 days of Auctions End. Accepted forms of payment include Cash, Cashier's Check,  PayPal, or Credit Card.
  • BUYER agrees to contact seller within 48 hours of auctions close to arrange for pickup of vehicle. We prefer that vehicles be picked up within 10 days of auctions close (unless other arrangements are made). 
  • We are a licensed Indiana Motor Vehicle Dealer and are required to collect 6% Indiana Sales Tax. If you are an out of state buyer we will give you the necessary paperwork to have the sales tax credited in your home state.  There are no additional fees or charges.
